The El Paso County Sheriff's Office says a gun that had been thrown out of the car James Lohr was in has been recovered.
Lohr was wanted in connection to the murder of Tom Clements, the director of the Colorado Department of Corrections.
Surveillance video from a business on the 2300 block of E. Bijou shows the gun thrown out of the vehicle Lohr was driving during a chase early Friday morning.
The video shows two men finding the gun. One of them picks it up, then puts it back down. They later return, pick it up and leave. The Sheriff's office says the gun was turned in Friday evening by a person who got the gun from one of the people in the video.
The gun has now been placed into evidence.
