A police cruiser had to be towed from the southeast side of town after an officer slid through an intersection and hit a curb.
The Colorado Springs Police Department says that the officer was trying to stop at a stop sign at Aviation and Zeppelin around 4 a.m., but due to road conditions was unable to stop the vehicle. The officer was not injured, but the patrol car sustained damage to its front end.
Police say the roads were snow-packed and icy at the time of the accident.
