Highway 24 is back open from Cascade to Manitou Springs after the threat of flash flooding subsided Wednesday afternoon.
The highway was closed just after 5 p.m. when heavy rain started falling over the Waldo Canyon burn scar, putting the beleaguered area in danger once again of flooding and mudslides.
It was reopened less than an hour later.
