An off duty police officer is being credited for spotting a fire that could have swept through Black Forest overnight.
Firefighters tell us the officer was driving by the farm on highway 83 near highway 105 when he spotted the fire and called it in.
Firefighters say they were able to get the fire out quickly, but not before a chicken coop and shed were destroyed. A nearby tree also started on fire. Two chickens also died in the fire.
Firefighters say a heat lamp in the chicken coop started the fire.
