ST. LOUIS (AP) Police say a gunman walked into a business school in downtown St. Louis and shot an administrator in the chest before shooting himself.

Police Chief Sam Dotson said the shooting happened about 2 p.m. Tuesday. The administrator was a man in his 40s who was shot in his office.

The suspect reportedly attended Stevens Institute of Business & Arts off and on for four years and had no history of threats or violence. The motive wasn't clear, but Dotson said the shooter apparently sought out the victim.

Sam Dotson said the men were rushed to Saint Louis University Hospital. He was optimistic both would survive, but a hospital spokesman declined to discuss their conditions.

He says no one else was injured.

The shooting happened at the Stevens Institute of Business and Arts, which has about 250 students in programs including business administration and interior design.

Dotson says officers found students hiding under desks and in closets.
