A fire burning behind a middle school is believed to be arson.

Firefighters are now looking for a teen who was seen running from the area right after the fire started Monday afternoon.

The fire began burning in a field just east of Janitell Junior High on Fountain Mesa Road in Fountain. Firefighters were able to quickly put it out, containing it a 3/4 of an acre.

People at local businesses in the area told 11 News it was unnerving seeing a fire burning so close.

The teenage male suspect is believed to have been wearing a green sweatshirt, gray jacket and jeans. If you know how whereabouts or have any further information that can help authorities, call the Fountain Fire Department.
