Kum & Go offered free gas to dozens Saturday in order to celebrate opening their first stores in Colorado Springs.
The first 50 cars in line got to fill up their tanks with 12 gallons of gas at no cost.
Some came as early as 3 in the morning to take advantage of the deal.
Gas station chain Kum & Go is new to Colorado Springs and wanted to offer the discount to celebrate their growth and grand openings.
Three of their locations gave out gas over the last three days.
A gesture customers found both shocking and exciting.
"I feel like I won the lottery. Twelve gallons of gasoline would be about $45 and I can do a lot with $45,” said Mary.
"My daughter's birthday is coming up and I was wanting to get this free gas so I can spend more on her birthday party and her gifts,” said Lorinda.
Kum & Go expects to open five more eco-friendly stores in the Pikes Peak region this year.
