11 News viewers say Fort Carson went on lockdown Wednesday afternoon, but the Mountain Post denies that ever happened.
At 5:15 p.m., Fort Carson released this statement:
"This afternoon, an individual displayed suspicious and threatening behavior during a medical appointment at Fort Carson. After statements were made that suggested the individual may be in possession of a weapon, the building supervisor took prudent measures to evacuate and report the incident to authorities. The individual was later detained without incident."
KKTV 11 News started getting calls around 3:45 p.m. from people on post saying they were put on lockdown and that MPs were telling them there was an active shooter on post.
