Roads are icy in spots that saw accumulating snow yesterday. Allow yourself plenty of extra time this morning and dress warmly, as wind chills are in the single digits and teens for many. A second disturbance will bring another round of snow showers to the Front Range this afternoon and early evening. While not as heavy as yesterday, some additional light accumulations over the higher terrain will be possible, including Teller and Northern El Paso Counties. Fort Carson is gearing up to welcome home about 200 soldiers from the 4th Brigade Combat Team.
On Tuesday, families are expecting 150 soldiers to arrive at a ceremony held at 6:40 p.m. in the Special Event Center on post. The remaining 50 soldiers are expected to arrive on Wednesday.
The troops have been in Afghanistan since February. They oversaw the completion of 22 schools, 25 road projects, four canal and water sanitation projects, 13 medical clinics and 37 other infrastructure projects.
