Fort Carson Soldier Killed In Combat

A Fort Carson soldier died Saturday in Afghanistan while supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.

The Department of Defense released the news Sunday.

Staff Sgt. Joshua Bowden was 28 years old. The DOD says Bowden died of injuries sustained when enemy forces attacked his unit.

He was assigned to the 242nd Ordnance Battalion, 71st Ordnance Group and originally from Villa Rica, Georgia.
