A former police officer has been accused of robbing multiple locations along the Front Range and in Colorado Springs over the past year.
Scott Brasselero is charged with two robberies in Colorado Springs. One was at the First Bank on Broadmoor Bluffs Drive on January 10; the second was at a pharmacy inside the Safeway on South Nevada January 17.
Brasselero is also accused of crimes in Castle Rock, Arapahoe County and Pueblo.
Springs police say most of the robberies were sporadic over a 13-month period, and it took detectives some time to link them together. Brasselero was eventually identified as the suspect through video evidence and physical evidence. After identifying the suspect, police learned he was already serving time in Fremont County for a different crime.
The 46-year-old used to be a police officer in Sioux City, Iowa.
