After an officer had already cited a driver for several violations, police say the driver was unable to stop his vehicle from rolling backward into the officer’s patrol car.
According to a Pueblo Police Department report, the officer stopped Andrew Garcia on the 500 block of Lake Avenue in a black Ford Ranger. The officer was going to cite the driver for several violations.
After Garcia stopped the pickup, the officer told him to go park the vehicle. According to police, Garcia tried to start the truck again, but wasn’t familiar with the standard transmission.
The truck rolled backwards, colliding with the front of the officer’s Crown Victoria. Both vehicles incurred minor damage.
A second officer was called to investigate the accident, and Garcia was issued an additional citation for careless driving.
