Firefighters were able to quickly knock down flames in a home on the south side of Colorado Springs Wednesday morning, saving the structure.
The fire started around 3 a.m. at a home on Rainier Drive. A neighbor spotted the flames and called 911. It's unknown at this time if anyone currently lives in the home, which was reportedly condemned prior to the fire.
CSFD says the fire was under control within seven minutes of arrival. Most of the damage was contained to the garage. The fire department said Thursday that they were able to save more than $162,200 worth of property. Just over $6,300 was lost.
The cause of the fire is still unknown.
