Firefighters Make Quick Work of Structure Fire

Firefighters quickly put out a fire at an apartment building near Fillmore and Nevada in Colorado Springs.

Our crew at the scene says everyone made it out of the home OK.

The fire was reported just before noon on the 900 block of First Street.

Firefighters could see smoke coming from the home when they arrived.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The unit where the fire started is unlivable, but other units in the building escaped with minor smoke damage, according to the fire department.
