The fire department at Peterson Air Force Base will be conducting fire training exercises on Friday.

The training is happening on the west side side of the base near Airport and Powers.

People driving on Powers, or who live near the airport, should not be alarmed if they see smoke or fire in the area.

This goal is to make sure emergency responders are prepared to handle emergencies on base and at the airport.

Peterson firefighters are main response team that handles all aircraft and civilian airport emergencies.
