State troopers are investigating whether a fatal crash in west El Paso County was medically-induced.

The single-vehicle crash was reported at 9:20 p.m. Thursday on Chipita Park Road near Highway 24. A 36-year-old man was found dead at the scene.

State Patrol tells 11 News they are waiting on an autopsy to determine whether the woman died first, causing the crash, or if she was killed in the crash itself. Until the autopsy results come back, State Patrol says they are treating the incident as a fatal crash.

Next of kin has not been notified at this time.

Editor's Note: State Patrol originally said the victim in Thursday's crash was a 35-year-old woman, but now tell us it was a 36-year-old man. The story has been edited to reflect the change.
