A Springs mom was stunned by the discovery of a bullet lodged between two window panes at her home Sunday morning.

She tells 11 News she's grateful it was a downstairs window and not her young son's bedroom.

Police say they are surprised that the bullet did not penetrate the home, and are now trying to investigate where it was shot from.

The bullet was found in a front window at a home on the 2500 block of Brenton Drive, near Academy and Vickers. No one in the home heard it hit the window.

Police believe it was fired sometime between 7 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. Sunday.
