One family has been displaced after a fire broke out in their home overnight.
The fire started just before 1 a.m. Wednesday at a home on Galena Court, which is located on the northeast side of Colorado Springs near Flintridge and Montebello. Firefighters were able to quickly contain it. It's believed to have been primarily in the kitchen.
A couple of firefighters remain at the scene as of 4:40 a.m., monitoring the home to make sure the fire is completely out.
The Pikes Peak Red Cross is responding to assist the family. It's unknown what the extent of damage is: if the house sustained fire or smoke damage, or if firefighters just need some time to ventilate the home.
At this time, further details have not been released; our news team is at the scene working to get more information.
