Snow showers continue this evening creating slick road conditions across southern Colorado. Overnight the N Pikes Peak Region sees a second push of moisture and locally heavy snowfall will once again be possible. A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for far northern El Paso County where ~4" are possible by Tuesday morning. Also ahead, a High Wind Warning for much of southeast Colorado from 4-11am Tuesday morning as wind gusts could reach up to 60 mph. Several local families now have their stolen vehicles back after Colorado Springs Police made some big arrests this week.
They had their biggest break when they located a stolen 1995 Acura on Tremont Street near Fillmore. After making an arrest police recovered four other vehicles in a three block area.
During another arrest police located a stolen 2004 Acura near Bijou Street and Chelton. The thief was charged with vehicle motor theft, ID theft, and illegally carrying a concealed weapon. Neighbors say they're happy to hear police are cracking down on auto theft.
"If they get caught that's good. I'm glad. They should get them. Maybe lock them up for it and let them learn. " said Eddie Espinosa.
The CSPD's Auto Theft Unit recovered a total of 11 vehicles this week.
