Fallen Law Enforcement Officers Honored In Golden

A ceremony was held Friday, May 3 for two southern Colorado officers killed in the line of duty last year. Their names were added to a memorial for fallen officers at the Colorado State Patrol Academy in Golden.

Colorado Springs police officer Matt Tyner was one of five Colorado officers who died last year. He was killed after he collided with another vehicle during a police pursuit. Officer Tyner served with the Colorado Springs Police Department for 13 years.

Captain Leide Defusco of the Pueblo County Sheriff's Department was also honored.
He died in a plane crash while attempting to locate illegal marijuana crops in the San Isabel National Forest. Captain Defusco worked in law enforcement for 22 years. He was with the Pueblo County Sheriff's Office for five years.
