A gas leak that caused a neighborhood south of Pueblo to evacuate has been capped.
The leak was near Santa Fe Drive and Eagle.
Construction crews in the area hit a gas line Wednesday morning during digging operations. The line was reportedly not on their map.
Businesses were closed while firefighters aired out buildings to make sure natural gas did not build up inside.
The leak forced a number of evacuations, but people were able to return home by Wednesday night. Many had a hard time accessing their homes due to so many roads being closed in the area.
The leak was capped around 5 p.m.
As of Thursday morning, one lane of westbound Santa Fe remains closed.
