A storm system will begin to impact Southern Colorado by late this morning. Mountain locations will simply see snow, but lower elevations will see rain eventually change to snow by later this afternoon. Locations higher in elevation will see the heaviest snow, due to colder temperatures. So then, Teller County, far northwest El Paso County, and the Wet & Sangre de Cristo Mountains will likely see several inches of wet snow. The major cities will see far less snow and the storm will exit toward early Saturday morning.

Drivers are being told to stay off the roads today as another winter storm takes aim at the upper Midwest.
This is video of snow plows clearing the roads and emergency crews helping stranded drivers in Minneapolis where a second wave of snow is expected today.
A winter storm warning remains in effect for Minnesota and Wisconsin.
Up to 10 inches of snow is expected around Chicago.
Drivers are being urged to stay off the roads and use public transportation during today's commute.
If you are traveling, the storm is also leading to cancellations and delays today at Denver International Airport.
The airport says the storm isn't allowing many flights to go in or out of the Chicago airport.
Airlines always advise to check with them - especially if you have a connecting flight.
