A system producing heavy snow in the central mountains arrives in SE Colorado overnight Sunday into Monday bringing moisture, windy conditions and colder temperatures. Snow showers will be possible across the I-25 corridor to start the day. This system will produce bands of snow through the day Monday. Areas under these bands will see periods of heavy snowfall which, with windy conditions, could create travel difficulties. The man accused of killing a Colorado Springs teenager in a hit and run accident says he's guilty.
David Henley Jr. pleaded guilty Tuesday to leaving the scene of an accident involving a death.
The accident happened back in may. 14-year-old Ricky Figueroa was crossing the street at Airport Road and Circle Drive when a pickup truck hit and killed him.
The driver of the truck took off.
Police say that driver was Henley. He is due back in court in December to set a sentencing date.
Henley’s tentative sentence is for 36 years in prison.
