One driver is getting ticketed for following too close after a chain reaction crash that involved five vehicles.

The crash happened at about 2:15 p.m. Christmas Eve in Cañon City.

Police say the driver of a blue Chevy pickup hit a red Jeep at a traffic light on Highway 50 and Reynolds. The impact of the crash pushed the Jeep into another car.

Traffic was diverted for about an hour while crews cleaned up the mess.

Four people were taken to the hospital. Police did not know the extent of their injuries. No drugs or alcohol are suspected of being involved in the crash.

The driver of the pickup was cited with following too close.
