A Douglas County deputy was arrested Friday for allegedly sending inappropriate text messages to a child.
The unidentified deputy was taken into custody and is on unpaid administrative leave. His alleged conduct happened while off duty and reportedly did not involve schools.
The Sheriff's Office says the case is "very complex" and could involve other arrests. The investigation, expected to be lengthy, involves the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, the 18th Judicial District, the District Attorney's office and the Rocky Mountain Computer Forensics Lab.
The deputy, whose identity has not been released, posted a $50,000 bond for charges of sexual exploitation of a child.
