Denver Mayor Michael Hancock is encouraging people to join those in a moment of silence on Friday to honor the 26 people killed last week at Sandy Hook Elementary School.
As Connecticut Gov. Dannel P. Malloy and Gov. John Hickenlooper requested the City and County of Denver will participate in a moment of silence at 9:30 a.m. Friday.
The City and County Building at 1437 Bannock Street will also ring its bells 26 times in remembrance of the lives lost at Sandy Hook.
Everyone is invited to participate even if they cannot attend the moment of silence in person.
