It appears that Nashville, Tennessee was spared from a tornado that threatened the city Friday evening, which instead ripped through Dickson, just to the southwest.
Many people in Colorado Springs have family in Tennessee. One mom has been praying her sister is OK.
"She spent last night apparently in the stairwell,” Dana Kasper said. Her sister lives in northern Nashville.
“They had tornado warnings, and her and her daughter spent the night in the stairwell, cause that was the safest place that they had in their house."
People all over the Midwest and Southeast have been affected by a string of tornadoes.
"Just to see so much devastation--it's outrageous,” Kasper said.
She thinks it’s important that KKTV has covered the storms.
"For so many military out here--there are so many families out east,” Kasper said. "And I think it's very important that they kind of know."
