Two separate crashes backed up I-25 in both directions through Pueblo Friday evening.

All lanes of the interstate near Ilex were closed for a time. All lanes were opened by 7:15 p.m.

Pueblo police say around 4:20 p.m. a 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse with four teenagers inside lost control while traveling north near the Ilex interchange.

Two girls and a boy were ejected from the car. Police were unable to determine if a second boy in the car had also been ejected. Both boys sustained minor injuries, while the two girls were seriously injured. All were taken to the hospital. Drugs and alcohol are not suspected in the crash. Police do believe speed was a factor.

Just after the first crash, a 60-year-old man in a Ford truck came upon the accident site and lost control of his vehicle, hitting the concrete barrier. He was taken to the hospital where he was treated and released.

Names of the people involved in the two accidents have not been released.
