Academy was closed for hours Thursday, from Pikes Peak to Fountain Boulevard, while police investigated the scene of a deadly crash.

Colorado Springs police tell 11 News two juveniles and a teenage adult in a stolen car ran the red light and crashed into several other cars. Police say they were not chasing the suspects at the time of the wreck. The suspects ran from the scene but were quickly caught by police.

While they were running away, police say one of the suspects dropped a gun, which was recovered by officers. That gun was linked to a burglary that happened last week. One of the three involved with the stolen car was arrested after that burglary.

Police say possible charges include vehicular homicide and motor vehicle theft.

The El Paso County Coroner says Orlando Medina-Cauich was killed in the crash. No other information about him is being released at this time.
