Highway 24 is open again at 31st after an accident closed the intersection at little after 7 a.m.
Officers said earlier that three vehicles were involved the accident, but our crew at the scene confirms that it was only two vehicles.
Police say a car was going east on Highway 24 and tried to turn left onto 31st before the stoplight turned red. A car going west on Highway 24 collided with the first car in the intersection.
Police say one of the drivers had to be cut out of the vehicle with the Jaws of Life. He was taken to the hospital and is expected to recover. The other drive was not taken to the hospital.
