Convict Walks Away From Minimum-Level Facility

An offender being held at the Colorado Department of Corrections walked away from a minimum-level facility Wednesday morning.

An offender being held at the Colorado Department of Corrections walked away from a minimum-level facility Wednesday morning.

According to the DOC, 30-year-old Kenneth Gomez didn't show up for the formal count at 10:15 a.m. Authorities then realized that a red service vehicle was missing from the Colorado State Patrol garage.

Gomez was working as a mechanic while incarcerated at the Camp George West DOC facility. He was serving time for charges of burglary and disturbing public peace.

Gomez is described as 5-foot-4 Hispanic man, weighing about 150 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. Gomez also has multiple tattoos. They are located in the following places:

-right side of his neck, says "Jester"
-left side of his neck, says "Josiah"
-right upper arm, says "Eye of Ra"
-right lower arm, says "Destiney"
-left lower arm, says "Evangeline"
-chest, says "Amorina
-back, says Brandie

Camp George West is located near Golden.
