Snow showers continue this evening creating slick road conditions across southern Colorado. Overnight the N Pikes Peak Region sees a second push of moisture and locally heavy snowfall will once again be possible. A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for far northern El Paso County where ~4" are possible by Tuesday morning. Also ahead, a High Wind Warning for much of southeast Colorado from 4-11am Tuesday morning as wind gusts could reach up to 60 mph. Congress returns to work today (Jan. 6) to a large "to do" list for the 2014 year.
At the top of the list: a battle over long term unemployment benefits, which has both Democrats and Republicans fighting against eachother.
Next week marks the deadline for a vote to fund the Government.
A deal was reached last year, but it still needs to be finalized regarding raising the Debt Ceiling.
Lower on the list is something that has escaped Congress for years, immigration reform.
And Republicans are pushing for changes in Obamacare.
A poll last year showed that two-thirds of Americans called our current Congress, the worst Congress ever.
