Snow showers continue this evening creating slick road conditions across southern Colorado. Overnight the N Pikes Peak Region sees a second push of moisture and locally heavy snowfall will once again be possible. A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for far northern El Paso County where ~4" are possible by Tuesday morning. Also ahead, a High Wind Warning for much of southeast Colorado from 4-11am Tuesday morning as wind gusts could reach up to 60 mph. Officials say an 81-year-old Colorado man has died after being pulled from the water while snorkeling in Hawaii.
The Kauai Fire Department said in a statement that the man from Colorado Springs, whose name was not released, was pulled from the water at Makua Beach, also known as Tunnels, over the weekend.
Witnesses say the man had been snorkeling in calm waters Saturday about 20 to 40 feet from shore when he was spotted face down in the water. Bystanders brought him to shore and performed CPR.
They were joined by lifeguards then Hanalei firefighters, who took the man to Wilcox Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
