Colorado Springs Assesses Flood Damage

The city of Colorado Springs has done as initial assessment of the flooding damage resulting from the storm Wednesday and Thursday.

As KKTV has been reporting, Gold Camp Road and Cheyenne Road have extensive damage.

There are also road closures at Stratton and Cheyenne Roads due to bridge damage. Those will remain in place until further notice.

There is extensive damage to the pond and sidewalk areas at Gold Camp and Camp Creek.

Some of the city's parks, trails and greenways have also suffered washouts. Palmer Park is closed because of washouts on the trails. Garden of the Gods park is also closed.

Some homes along Cheyenne creek were also damaged.

The city says residents can pick up UNFILLED sandbags at the following fire stations:

Station 5: 2830 West Colorado Avenue
Station 9: 622 Garden of the Gods Road
Station 12: 445 Rockrimmon Boulevard
Station 18: 6830 Hadler View

Sand is available for pick up at the Wilson United Methodist Church parking lot located at 6460 Flying W Ranch Road.
