A Northern Colorado man was killed Friday morning when his pickup truck hit a semi truck.
It happened around 7:45 a.m. in Kiowa County on Highway 287, about eight miles north of Eads.
Colorado State Patrol says the pickup was going south when it drifted into the northbound lanes and hit the semi. The driver of the pickup was killed. He's Stephan Piland, 48, of Fort Collins. A passenger was hurt, but will survive.
Troopers believe distracted driving could be a factor in the crash.
