Dozens of city employees could lose their jobs at the end of the year.

The city of Colorado Springs says the fleet maintenance staff learned Monday that their positions will be outsourced to another company in order to save money.

The city wouldn't reveal the name of that company yet but a spokesperson says that firm is interested in hiring the majority of the fleet staff.

There are 59 people currently employed on the fleet staff.

The savings is estimated at $2 million over the next three years.
