Mayor Steve Bach has announced the interim fire chief for the Colorado Springs Fire Department.
Deputy Chief Tommy Smith will serve temporarily as fire chief while the city conducts a nationwide search for former chief Rich Brown's replacement.
“Tommy is already a leader in the Colorado Springs Fire Department and will be a great asset to the department during the transition. His experience will serve the city well during this interim period,” Bach said in a statement released Monday.
