A child was struck by a bullet when someone opened fire on a home on the south side of Colorado Springs late Friday night.
Springs Police say a 12-year-old was shot in the lower leg when gunfire erupted outside the child’s home. When police arrived at the scene, they found numerous bullet holes in the residence on the 100 block of South Murray Boulevard.
The child was taken to the hospital and is expected to fully recover from the gunshot wound.
Police first received calls of gunfire near Airport Road and Murray Blvd. around 11:45 p.m. Friday. Shortly after police arrived in the neighborhood, they were called to the child’s home. Police do not know who shot at the home or why.
