Parents and kids got a lesson in safety and self-defense Saturday.
It was part of the anti-abduction and kids safety program at Calvary Family Martial Arts and Fitness center in Colorado Springs.
The free event is aimed at teaching kids how to stay safe throughout the school year and summertime.
"We teach what's called gross motor skill techniques... it doesn't matter about the size or strength. It's how to delay and draw attention to the attack so they don't have to be concerned about the strength of the attacker," Chief Master Instructor Isaac Costley told KKTV.
This was the last class for the summer, but they are expected to start back up again in September.
