The sudden death of a young man is hitting a local community pretty hard. 11 News talked to family and friends tonight. There's speculation that Lance Money may have died from the flu, but the family is waiting autopsy results.

A lot of people are talking about this because he was young, otherwise healthy, and so well liked. He died suddenly, shocking the Fountain community.

Lance Money, 22, was found unresponsive by his mom Saturday morning. His older brothers told us, it's nice to see the outpouring of support, and said Lance himself would have be surprised.

"I also believe that he would probably throw his hands in the air and ask, what are you guys doing? Be happy," Lance’s brother Scott Money said.

Friends and family told us this 2008 Mesa Ridge graduate loved basketball and was just overall, an optimistic and enthusiastic young man.

"He's just happy, go lucky 100% of the time," Scott Money said.

"He literally had no enemies, just one of those people I mean, (I’ll) just always remember him like that," close friend Alek Belter added.

At this time, there's no official cause of death. His family told us he had been sick up to a week prior to his death. Now, they are waiting for the results of an autopsy.

"We all have many thoughts running through our minds, what could've happened, and why it happened and just many questions that are unfortunately all unanswered," Belter said.

The family knows a lot of people in the community are hurting. They're asking, instead of flowers, if you can, donate to one of Lance's passions instead. The family points out three donation recipients, the YMCA, Special Olympics, or humane society.

The Money family is setting up a memorial service for later this week, they hope to have all the information finalized by Tuesday, we'll let you know when it is.
