A warning for people living near Memorial Park. Several cars and a neighborhood church were targeted by vandals early Sunday morning. Neighbors told 11 News at least 10 cars were targeted.
As you drive around Prospect and Rio Grande in Colorado Springs, car, after car, after car, are all the same, all their windshields smashed.
Christopher Robinson has lived in the area for two years; he woke up to see his windshield damaged and his back window destroyed.
"They've taken nothing out of the car, was going around vandalizing the windows, you know I can't get back and forth to work and I don't know what I’m going to do," Robinson said.
We were on scene as police just started their investigation early Sunday morning. The church on the corner of Prospect and Moreno had three rocks thrown through their windows.
Just a few houses over, another victim told 11 News "we didn't even hear a thing, it was very quiet."
Homeowner Michael Nipp said his family friend was leaving to go home at around 1:30 a.m. when the friend saw three teenage boys. His friend said one of the suspects ran up over the hood of their car and stomped on the windshield.
"He grabbed one of them and was trying to get a hold of him, but at that point the two friends struggled with him and got him away...they all bolted as fast as they could," Nipp said.
Everyone we talked to said even though nothing was stolen, it's going to cost a lot of money for the repairs.
"I’ve got grandbabies, I can't even go see them now...putting me in a very hard situation, especially at Christmastime," Robinson said.
Right now, there's not much suspect information. They're described as three boys, possibly teenagers, white, and about 140 pounds each.
If you have any information about the vandalism, call Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP.
