A teen received a scraped elbow and a citation after walking into a car in a busy intersection in downtown Colorado Springs.
Springs police say the teen was crossing at the Platte and Weber intersection late Thursday morning when the light turned green. A driver in an oncoming car saw the teen and slammed on the brakes; the teen thought he was okay and kept walking -- straight into another vehicle.
Other than some scrapes on his elbow, the teen was okay. He received a ticket for pedestrian in roadway. The driver had no fault in the incident, and was not cited.
The crash, which happened just before 11:30 a.m., briefly closed southbound Weber at Platte. The roadway has since been reopened.
