CSPD's canine crimefighters will be sporting new gear thanks to the generosity of others.
The K-9 unit is receiving two donated bullet and stab-protective vests, valued at $5,000. Springs police credit the joint efforts of Massachusetts non-profit Vested Interest In K9s and Nick's Pro Fitness in Evergreen, Colo. for making this happen.
Police say Vested Interest in K9s aims to provide these protective vests to law enforcement dogs across the country, to ensure that they stay safe while on the job. Nick's Pro Fitness is a Denver-area gym. CSPD says these new vests would not have been possible without the generosity of these two organizations.
Expect to see Canine Heat, Canine Petra, Canine Max and Canine Vader looking sharp in their new duds very soon!
