Moderate snow continues to fall for some areas of northern El Paso and Teller Counties, accumulating in the grass and yards. Meanwhile, in the plains and along the southern I-25 stretch, light rain/snow mix continues. Take it slow on the roadways - due to VERY strong winds, we are seeing blowing dirt and snow (depending on the region), which is tremendously reducing visibility. Colorado is getting a boost in transportation funding to rebuild highways damaged by last month's flooding.
Instead of $100 million, Colorado can now access up to $450 million. Officials are touring areas on Monday to see the progress being made fixing those roadways.
Gov. John Hickenlooper and members of the Colorado congressional delegation fought for a provision in last week's budget bill to lift the cap on how much emergency transportation funding the state can use.
