It's being called a breakthrough in human stem-cell cloning.

Scientists in Oregon say they have successfully reprogrammed human skin cells to become embryonic stem cells.

We're told they're capable of transforming into any other cell type in the body.

The breakthrough could lead to the development of replacement tissue to treat diseases.

The scientists say that unlike some past research, this research does not involve the use of fertilized embryos.
