Break-Ins Worry Neighbors

Woodmoor residents are planning a neighborhood watch meeting after a rash of break-ins in the last two weeks.

The El Paso County Sheriff's Office tells 11 News they are close to solving the burglaries.

Burglars entered the homes by breaking windows in the homes and the garages to get in. In at least two cases, the crooks took alcohol along with electronics, jewelry and food.

Detectives says most of the homes that were burglarized were empty because homeowners were out of town--but that hasn't been the case every time. Most recently, the Sheriff's Office investigated footsteps found in the snow around two different homes going from the doors to the windows.

In both incidents those residents were home.

A neighborhood watch meeting will take place Tuesday, November 13. It will get underway at 6:30 p.m.

It will be held at the Woodmoor Community Center at 1691 Woodmoor Drive.
