Updated: 05/14/2013 - I'm still focused on meeting my goal of doing a pull-up. And I'm almost there! But I'm always getting this question:
Some 14,500 pages from the Boy Scouts' so-called "perversion files" were made public Thursday, and nearly 20 of those files relate to cases in Colorado.
The files show that on numerous occasions local officials helped cover up abuse allegations.
A Portland attorney held a news conference on Thursday after which he made the files available.
There are 18 documents related to cases in Colorado, including one in Colorado Springs, two in Pueblo, two in La Junta, and one each in Walsenburg and at Ft. Carson.
The documents date from 1959 to 1985. This is the first time the earliest documents -- those from 1959 to 1971 -- have been made public.
The documents show that in many instances the files succeeded in keeping pedophiles out of Scouting, but many times they did not.
