After a mild Saturday, temperatures to finish the weekend will be MUCH colder! A system to our west pushes into SE Colorado overnight. Snow showers will be possible by early Sunday morning across the I-25 corridor with a change to rain and snow showers through the afternoon. Accumulation should be minimal as most moisture looks to be light and temperatures will warm into the upper 30s and 40s through the afternoon. The main impact will be the cold along with winds gusting up to 40 mph at times. Click on the 'Weather' tab for more...
A group of Boy Scouts spent Saturday cleaning up a neighborhood buried in tumbleweeds.
Windy weather blew massive amounts of tumbleweeds into the neighborhood, blocking streets and burying vehicles on the east side of Colorado Springs.
The scouts showed up with rakes and pickup trucks. A local church also helped. Banning Lewis Ranch donated two large dumpsters to the effort.
A neighbor told KKTV 11 News she is grateful for the help.
"It's nice to know that people are willing to help clean up and lend a hand because I don't know how we would do it without them," Christine Strickland said.
The group says it plans to take the tumbleweeds to the Fountain landfill.
