Resolution FAQ - (Stacia Naquin)
Updated: 05/14/2013 - I'm still focused on meeting my goal of doing a pull-up. And I'm almost there! But I'm always getting this question:
Three boys have been identified as the suspects who telephoned in a bomb threat at the Walmart store on Highway 24 in Woodland Park.
According to reports from the Woodland Park Police Department, their dispatch center with the assistance of Verizon Wireless traced the bomb threat call to Pennsylvania.
Police in Woodland Park contacted the Harrison Township Police Department in Pennsylvania and they responded to the address in Natrona Heights.
One 15-year-old boy admitted to making the prank calls, along with two others. At this time no charges have been placed and the case remains open.
Friday night the Walmart in Woodland Park was evacuated when a bomb threat was called into the store around 10:30. A bomb squad found no suspicious devices in the building and the store reopened around 2 a.m.
The Woodland Park incident was just one of several calls to Walmart stores in three states over the weekend.
The Walmart on Platte and Chelton in Colorado Springs was also closed for several hours while the bomb squad and police canines searched for anything suspicious. They found nothing suspicious and gave the all-clear a little before 7 p.m.
Bomb threats were also reported Saturday afternoon at Walmarts in Commerce City, Colo., Great Bend and Salina, Kansas, and stores in Oklahoma. Right now Springs police can't say if the threats are connected, but the investigation continues.
"We were checking out at the register and somebody came running down the aisles yelling 'evacuate, everybody evacuate,'" said Springs shopper Barbara Gould.
Some customers even had to leave their groceries behind.
"It's a little intimidating, certainly is. Something we're not expecting, just coming here to shop," said shopper Bobby Gill.
One customer told 11 News while it was time-consuming to evacuate, she would rather they be safe than sorry.
"I'd rather for them to try to save my life and be a little rude, than to be nice and have me blow up," said shopper Loletta Fair.
