Residents at the El Vecino Apartments are back in their homes after a bomb scare forced residents to evacuate Monday.
The suspicious device turned out to be a fake bomb made out of clay. Authorities tell KKTV 11 News it was attached to a real cell phone and placed in a briefcase.
A manager reportedly found the fake device around 1:40 p.m. during an eviction. The building was evacuated as a precaution while the bomb squad investigated.
The El Vecino apartments are near Monterey and Circle in Colorado Springs.
